Coal Resources
JCOAL runs a website and issues journals to provide the latest information on coal to specialists as well as the general public. To help spread the achievements of different efforts to develop coal technologies, JCOAL organizes Advanced Clean Coal Technology International Symposiums which introduce coal information inside and outside Japan as well as the trends of technical development of CCTs. It also hosts clean coal seminars to provide the latest information about coal policies and technical trends. To make the public more aware of the importance of coal as an energy resource and the current state of coal technologies, JCOAL distributes general coal brochures and holds coal seminars and Coal relation facility tours for the general public for several days around September 5 (Clean Coal Day).
Thus, we are increasing people’s understanding of coal utilization and its significance.

Facility Visiting Program for the school Children
To inform school children about the coal situation and CCTs, we invite children to attend site tours of CCT related facilities including power stations and steel works, in addition to providing a exhibition at the Science Museum. These activities help children learn about coal, and the importance of coal and CCTs. For students and the general public, JCOAL distributes educational material and provides lectures and seminars on coal to help people of all ages realize that coal can be environment-friendly.
(4)Publication of journals
JCOAL publishes the JCOAL Journal to provide members with the latest information about CCTs, as well as papers on coal issued in Japan and abroad.
(5)Providing information via the Internet
JCOAL web site
JCOAL provides new and useful coal information on its website. In addition to making such news available immediately, the website has many sections including JCOAL Publications, Coal Land, Clean Coal ("Let’s go on an exploration with Mr. Coal!") and Clean Coal Technologies in Japan. The website thus provides information to a wide range of people including children, students, workers and even high-tech engineers. JCOAL also uses the Japan Coal Information System (JCIS), fundamental technology database (COAL DB) and coal ash utilization database (Coal Ash DB) to provide different types of coal data.
(6)Clean Coal Day's Events (Clean Coal Day: September 5)
