Within the frameworks of "Training Project on Coal Mining Technology", "Clean Coal Technology Transfer Project" and "JICA Training Project", JCOAL accepts coal engineers from the coal producing developing-countries in Asia to Japan. It also dispatches Japanese specialists to the coal producing developing-countries to implement training programs effectively.
Through these projects, JCOAL enhances the abilities of the coal technical experts in the coal producing developing-countries by the transfer of the advanced coal technologies, such as exploration, production, safety, environmental preservation and effective utilization of coal. Thus, JCOAL implements various projects which make an international contribution and ensure a stable supply of coal. |
1) Training project on coal Mining Technology
Utilizing the outstanding underground coal mining technology developed in Japan’s coal mines over many years, JCOAL is engaged in technology cooperation with coal producing countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Through this, the coal production and safety technology in these countries is being improved, and this also contributes to ensuring a stable supply of coal to Japan. With this object in mind, engineers are accepted to Japan, and Japan’s specialists are dispatched to the coal producing countries to undertake training projects at those locations.
The trainee acceptance projects involve the acceptance of about 200 management class coal engineers from P.R.China, Indonesia and Vietnam.
These engineers receive onsite, engineer-to-engineer transfer of technology relating to management, mining, safety, machincry and electrical equipment at Kushiro Coal Mine and Nagasaki Coal Mine Technology Training Center. Dispatch operations include the dispatch of Japanese coal engineers on a lang-term basis to model mines in P.R.China, Indonesia, and Vietnam to conduct technology transfers in these countries.
2) Clean Coal Technology Transfer Project
To promote and disseminate "Clean Coal Technology" in the APEC region, JCOAL is implementing Clean Coal Technology Transfer Projects for the training to engineers from the APEC countries in Japan, related to the coal utilization, the coal quality control and environmental preservation.
3) JICA Training Project
JCOAL supports "Coal Technology Cooperation Projects" which JICA implements in Indonesia and Vietnam as a domestic support organization, and promotes the training projects by accepting coal mining engineers from Indonesia and Vietnam.
