Technology for effective coal ash utilization
  Japan Coal Energy Center (JCOAL) has been engaged in various activities for promoting the use of coal such as international cooperation and public relations, as well as research and development of coal utilization technologies. As one of its main activities, JCOAL has been developing technologies for effective usage of coal ash, as the amount of the cement matrix (that is the most popular method of processing coal ash in Japan) will decreases.
  JCOAL has also conducted nation-wide questionnaire survey intended for the companies of general industry to know the amount of exhaust coal ash and the amount of the effective use of coal ash. On the other side, the figures of the amount of the exhaust and the amount of effective use of the ash of Electric Power-related Industry was clarified by The Federation of Electric Power Companies and Japan Fly Ash Association. JCOAL has summarized data of both in one book every year.
  This document presents the results of the survey of the general industries. JCOAL sincerely thanks all the parties for their invaluable assistance.
This questionnaire survey has been carried out with the support of the Coal Division of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and with the assistance of the companies.
