In fiscal 2006, over 11.0 million tons of coal ash was
produced in total, which was 1.8% (183 thousand tons) lower than that
in fiscal 2005. Coal ash production from electric power utilities
decreased 2.8% (235 thousand tons) and increased 1.9% (53 thousand tons)
from general industries in fiscal 2005.
The ratio of coal ash produced from coal consumption in fiscal
2006 was 11.2% in total, broken down by 10.8% in electric power
utilities and 12.4% in general industries.
The ratio of production between electric power utilities and general
industries in fiscal 2006 was 74% to 26%.
